I am thankful 9/29/2010

For public transportation. Long commutes are so much nicer when one can spend them reading! And less environmental destruction is always a good thing.

For trees. Really, I rarely think about them but trees are rather nice to have and I miss them when they get sick and died.

For hairbrushes. And combs. What do people do without them?

I have to be honest and say that I did not own a hairbrush for many years. Or if I had one it was lost somewhere in my house. My hair is so fine that it doesn’t snarl very easily and I never brush it unless I’m bored. I only use a hairbrush to “rat” my hair so it has some body.

I want to know more! Did you use a comb or just your fingers, or really nothing at all? And did you dry it with a dryer, or just the air? I’m more than a little jealous!

My fingers if it needed anything, mostly just when I put mousse in it to blow it out and its part of the process. But when I airdry it I don’t even touch it. What’s funny is that when I was a child I used to get “rat’s nests” all the time and it was always messy/snarly. Then I grew up and no more. Who knows – it’s one of those mysteries of life.

I can’t imagine not having a hairbrush, my hair is also very fine, but it knots up all the time.

I sometimes miss my long commute – I did drive, but I listened to audio books and it was a great opportunity to decompress after a stressful day. I rarely carried the stress of work into my house because I left it all along the road somewhere!

I love tress – especially trees in the fall!
