Garlic

Garlic

I am on a mission to learn about garlic. I use a lot of it. The amount  pictured is typical for any given dinner. It is usually cooked, but I occasionally make an effort to use minced garlic without cooking in case it matters.

That seems a little silly, even to me. Why am I doing something “in case it matters” without even trying to find out whether it matters?! In any case though, it seems that garlic is a good thing for health.

World’s Healthiest Foods says that garlic is:

  • Good for the heart
  • Anti-Inflammatory
  • Antibacterial
  • Antiviral
  • Protects against many cancers
  • Promotes optimal health
  • Promotes weight control

I guess I just need to find out whether I should be guzzling the “aged garlic extract” or fresh raw cloves!

In my research you have to eat the raw cloves. Like a pill. I have not been able to make myself do it. Let me know if you find differently. I would love to get the benefits without the horse “pill.”

(Thanks for coming to my blog! The cheesecake bars were really good if you let them cool all the way and refrigerated them. Fresh out of the oven they were only ok.)
